Toronto, March 2025 – The concrete halls of Evergreen Brick Works welcomed a different kind of fashion energy this season. RunwayTO delivered refinement without spectacle. Precision without pretense.
The show opened with Amara Lowe, whose oatmeal-toned coats and perfectly pleated silk trousers were described by one guest as “a whisper in a world of screams.” Her designs used zero dyes and were made in a solar-powered co-op outside Hamilton.
While other cities leaned into excess, Toronto leaned into essence.
“There’s a reverence here,” said editor Carina Voss. “The clothes breathe. They don’t compete.”
Other notable designers included Noor & Niko, who debuted a nonbinary capsule in storm greys and sea-glass blues. The vibe was intellect-meets-intuition.
In a season defined by maximalism elsewhere, Toronto gave us restraint. And in doing so, it might have delivered the most powerful message of all.
